The sequel to Been Blued is entitled Martian Blues.  The publisher asked me to trim the story line and make it a series.  I’ll admit, I thought turning the Martian Symbiont story line into a series would come some time later, at the request of the readers, but if the publisher wants it, who am I to argue?  Perhaps it’s better to work on a series without interupting it by creating too many other characters and story lines for other novels.  I know from the many unpublished stories I’ve written, once a manuscript ends I like to mentally file it away and only retrieve it for brief, friendly visits.

Martian Blues picks up the story line about eighteen years after the end of Been Blued.  World peace has more or less been achieved, but not everyone developed the symbiont.  People lacking one think they’re constantly facing discrimination; many of them don’t believe the Martians’ claim of an impending invasion by hostile aliens.

That’s all I’ll give you for now, Martian Blues is still in the process of getting into print…it probably wouldn’t be fair to give my blog readers more details than the publisher has.  Hopefully, we’re looking at three months from now or less for a release date.

I was talking to one of my readers a few hours ago.  She just finished Been Blued and desperately wants to know what happens in Martian Blues.  She did say I should be grateful she wasn’t reading over my shoulder when I was writing it.  Another reason to keep using the handheld computer, the screen is too small for that.   😉

I hope everyone enjoys reading Martian Blues, but please, please, please, read the prologue.  I promise, the whole story will make much more sense, especially if you’ve had a chance to read Been Blued.

Thanks for reading.  🙂
